Acceptable Use Policy

VaultDeposit Technologies Inc. is a neutral technology platform that provides booking and verification infrastructure. We do not endorse, facilitate, or participate in any specific services or business models. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of the platform complies with all applicable laws.
1. Purpose of This Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines prohibited uses of Secure-Slot. By using the platform, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
2. Prohibited Services & Activities
You may NOT use Secure-Slot for any illegal services, including but not limited to:
- Human trafficking, prostitution, or sexual exploitation (Criminal Code s. 279, s. 286)
- Sale of controlled substances (CDSA)
- Fraud, money laundering, or terrorist financing (Criminal Code s. 380, PCMLTFA)
- Identity theft or impersonation
- Child exploitation material (Criminal Code s. 163.1)
- Weapons trafficking (Firearms Act)
- Tax evasion or unreported income schemes
- Any activity that violates federal, provincial, or municipal laws
3. Acceptable Use Examples
Secure-Slot is designed for legitimate independent contractors, including:
- Mobile mechanics and handypersons
- Private tutors and language instructors
- Personal trainers and fitness coaches
- Freelance makeup artists and hairstylists
- Photography and videography services
- Home cleaning and organization services
- Consulting and professional services (legal, accounting, IT, etc.)
- Any other lawful service-based business
4. User Responsibilities
As a provider, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable laws, including tax reporting requirements
- Provide accurate information and honest service descriptions
- Not engage in deceptive, fraudulent, or predatory practices
- Not harass, threaten, or abuse clients
- Report income earned through the platform to the CRA as required by law
As a client, you agree to:
- Use the platform only for booking legitimate services
- Not engage in harassment, fraud, or chargebacks without valid cause
- Not attempt to circumvent verification or payment systems
5. Reporting Violations
VaultDeposit maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illegal activity. If you suspect a user is violating this AUP, report them immediately:

Reports are reviewed within 24-48 hours. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations and will disclose user information when legally required.
6. Enforcement & Penalties
VaultDeposit reserves the right to:
- Issue warnings for first-time or minor infractions
- Suspend accounts pending investigation
- Permanently ban users who violate this AUP
- Freeze funds in escrow if illegal activity is suspected
- Report users to law enforcement if required by law or legal process
Banned users forfeit any pending credits, deposits, or subscription fees. No refunds are provided for accounts terminated due to AUP violations.
7. Safe Harbor & Platform Neutrality
VaultDeposit is a neutral software platform. We provide infrastructure for independent contractors to manage bookings and deposits. We do not:
- Endorse, recommend, or promote any specific service provider
- Vet or verify the legality of services offered by users
- Control or direct how users operate their businesses
- Participate in agreements between providers and clients
Users are independent contractors, not employees or agents of VaultDeposit. Each user is solely responsible for ensuring their services comply with all applicable laws.
By maintaining this AUP and actively responding to reports, VaultDeposit establishes safe harbor protection as a neutral technology provider under Canadian law.
8. Tax Compliance Notice
Important: VaultDeposit does not withhold taxes, issue T4 slips, or act as an employer. All users are responsible for:
- Reporting income to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
- Remitting applicable GST/HST if revenue exceeds $30,000/year
- Maintaining proper business records and receipts
- Complying with provincial and municipal business licensing requirements
VaultDeposit is a software platform, not a payment processor or employer. Users operate as independent contractors with full tax obligations.
9. Changes to This Policy
VaultDeposit may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification.
